One blessing that we really enjoy at this time is the amount of visitors we’ve had. It’s been a while since we added photos so here’s a few keepsakes of the last few months which have included…

Honestly, I don’t want to write this blog entry. It has nothing to do with the fact that it’s 20 degrees Celsius outside (70F) and I’m as thirsty for the sun as every other native on this sun-quenched island†. I know that this entry needs to cover a period that has been the most difficult week for us since Annie’s diagnosis.
Just a brief(ish) post because I know people will appreciate an update on the test results.
“Father, we want to thank you for this food. Lord, Annie is really weak and she needs to eat this food. Please subdue whatever it is that is causing her to be sick…just for this one simple meal, please. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
I’m not one given or gifted for providing these blog entries with catchy titles but if I was, this one would be ‘Sleep in all the wrong places!’

It’s my unschooled, poorly researched and late night opinion that you can divide the personalities of human beings into one of two categories: silly or serious. You can be a bit of both (indeed with age and responsibility you simply have to be) but your personality is predominantly one or the other. Instinctively, each group know their own and can detect their counterparts, even if they have never met. We might work it out from observing any number of signals: footwear, facial expressions, email addresses, books on shelves, number of book shelves, reaction to sudden strange noises during a period of public silence. We work it out intuitively and adapt accordingly. Continue reading

Before I begin this long overdue entry, I would just like to thank all of you who follow the blog and – more importantly – lift us up before our Father in heaven as you do. Over the last ten or so days I have received a number of gracious prompts to journal something so that you can be updated for prayer. It is humbling to have so many people take such sincere interest in what I write and share on this blog. Thank you.
As I write this it’s 11pm and that’s a fitting time to share something that has been on my mind over the last few days. ‘The eleventh hour’; I’m assuming the expression translates well if you are reading this outside of the UK. It’s a phrase (which actually originates from the bible, Matthew 20:6) we use to mean the latest possible time before something becomes too late. Although strictly speaking, it’s the 23rd hour right now, that’s neither here nor there!
